Edisto ~ Edisto Museum’s Lecture On Lafayette, Ties To Edisto & Rights of Man

The Edisto Museum will sponsor a lecture sure to draw history buffs. “Lafayette and the Rights of Man,” by Bill Davies. The lecture is free and open to the public and will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the New First Missionary Baptist Church (1644 Hwy. 174).
The lecture will be biographical in nature with emphasis on Lafayette’s time in the United States during the Revolutionary War and then again during his tour of the country 42 years after the end of the War. Lafayette has numerous South Carolina ties, including Edisto Island. His last visit to the United States included an overnight stay on Edisto Island at the home of William Seabrook.
