Beaufort’s Fall Festival of Houses & Gardens

Friday, 2-5 pm : Walking tour of the National Historic Landmark District
Patrons will be invited to explore Beaufort from a rare vantage point as gracious property owners open their private homes and gardens to public view. This year’s homes represent the best of the Beaufort Style and reflect the city’s eclectic architectural history from a late 18th century riverside manor to a charming Victorian cottage. Master gardeners will be on site to interpret garden locations.
Saturday, 1-4 pm: Afternoon country retreat & Lowcountry picnic
Visitors will have a truly southern experience at this country estate nestled along the banks of the Combahee River in Prince William Parish. Price includes a Lowcountry picnic. A 30-minute drive from downtown Beaufort.
Sunday, 9:30 am – 12 pm: Sunday in the Beaufort Style
Enjoy a truly unique morning tour and light southern brunch as we celebrate the Beaufort Style at this exclusive event. Nestled in formal gardens, this rare house exhibits the influence of Adam and the emerging Federal styles of architecture. As is typical of the Beaufort Style, the tabby house faces south, has a t-shape, a hipped roof, and a two-story portico, resting on a raised foundation. In-depth interpretations will be provided by noted experts. Tickets are limited for this exclusive event.
