This Children’s Hour program is based on the journey taken by early explorers to reach their new lives in the New World. The brave men and women who made these trips would face months at sea, risking illness, poor living conditions, and potentially catastrophic weather along the way. In this program we will look at what life is like when crossing the Atlantic and what happens when the trip doesn’t go as planned. Learn about Navigation, Knot-Tying, and Life aboard Trans-Atlantic vessels.
Admission to this program is $5, a fee offset by contributions made to the Santa Elena History Center to ensure that children may participate at no cost.
Registration recommended due to limited seating.
Led by: Tedi Huszagh, a USCB History student who has made 3 Trans-Atlantic crossings.
