Beaufort ~ Turkey Trot 2020


Event Details


We have decided to move forward with a limited non-refundable registration of up to 250 participants for our in person LIVE Turkey Trot Event.  We have cleared this with the necessary local, state and regional authorities and plan to host a fun, socially distanced event.  We will continue to monitor the situation with the health of our participants, volunteers, supporters and staff at the forefront of our decisions.

Please note that the race will move to a virtual format if the federal, state, local agencies or the CDC determine that it is not advised to host an in person event on Thanksgiving.  We will also work closely to monitor the “right” number of people to host at a LIVE race event.  We will use order/date of registration to determine which participants will be allowed to run in a live event if the number is less than 250.  For example, if we are limited to groups of less than 100 for the race then we will take the first 100 registered for the live platform and transfer the remaining to the virtual platform.

Please note that we have added the ability to register as a Virtual Participant.  Virtual participants will be able to have their shirt mailed or come by packet pick-up to get theirs in advance. We will make a best effort to mail shirts prior to the event for those requesting this.

Join LowCountry Habitat for Humanity for a FUN 5K Race on Thanksgiving morning in Downtown Beaufort.  Starting at 8am on Thursday November 26, 2020, on Bay & Newcastle Streets.  Run through historic downtown Beaufort and across the famous Woods bridge following a certified 5K course.

Packet pickup will be available on Tuesday, November 24 & Wednesday, November 25 from 10am until 5pm at Grounded Running located at 2139 Boundary Street, Ste 108 (the Old K-Mart), Beaufort, SC 29902.  We do not intend to have a race day pick-up option if this is required, please contact the race director.  Please note that sizes are not guaranteed for registrations after 11/13.   We strongly recommend that you stop by packet pick-up on Wednesday.

Age categories:  under 12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Prizes awarded to overall top three male and female and top two male and female in age divisions.  Please note that awards will not be given out on race day but distributed later to help with lowering the crowd.  Awards are for in-person participants only.

Please note that we are requesting all racers wear a mask at the starting line and practice social distancing as much as possible.

Event is pet and stroller friendly.  Flexi-type leashes will not be allowed at the event.  Please have pets on a standard 4-6ft lead.

Course:  Start/finish line at Freedom Mall down Bay Street cross Woods memorial Bridge to Lady’s Island down Meridian Rd to Youmans Drive and double back the same route to Freedom Mall.

Please note that registration for this event is NOT REFUNDABLE.  If we are unable to host an in person/live race, we will transfer to a virtual format.
