Rosa Parks – Building Bridges
On December 1, 1955, an African-American woman named Rosa Parks boarded a bus and changed the course of history.
The St. Andrew By-The-Sea United Methodist Church Bridge Builders Committee is sponsoring a presentation by Dr. Patricia Felton-Montgomery on Saturday, February 8 at 10:00AM about this courageous woman and the iconic moment when Rosa Parks inspired change in America.
Dr. Patricia Felton-Montgomery is an educator focused on rigorous, standards-based and relevant instruction of students. She is an active community leader and the recipient of numerous education and service awards. Dr. Montgomery often lectures at institutions of higher education on famous black leaders and landmark events in African-American history.
Rosa Parks – Building Bridges will be held at the Bluffton Campus of St. Andrew By-The-Sea UMC located in the plaza at 39 Persimmon St., Building 200, Suite 203. The program is free, but RSVPs are requested by calling 843-705-3918.
