“ACE Basin, one of the Last Great Places”
The Coastal Discovery Museum will host “ACE Basin, one of the Last Great Places”  in the Sea Island Room at the Museum.  The ACE Basin is one of the largest undeveloped estuaries along the Atlantic Coast.  The 350,000 acres area is renowned for its extensive natural beauty and commitment to preserve marshes, wetlands, hardwood forests, and riverine systems and the various fauna that occupy the area.  The ACE Basin has been deemed “One of the Last Great Places” by the Nature Conservancy.  Nicholas Wallover, currently the Regional biologist for the ACE Basin National Estuarine Research Reserve and Manager of the McKenzie Field Station at Bennett’s Point is the speaker. Cost is $7 per person and reservations are required by calling 843-689-6767 ext 223.  The Museum is located at 70 Honey Horn Drive.
