Build a Bog
Learn about the different groups of carnivorous plants present in the Lowcountry and walk away with your own carnivorous plant bog garden. Join Carlos Chacon, the Manager of Natural History at the Coastal Discovery Museum, for this unique opportunity to build your own bog garden. The Lowcountry is home to different groups of plants that have independently evolved carnivorous habits. From tiny sundews, to large pitcher plants, butterworts, aquatic bladderworts, and the unique Venus Fly Trap – hear how these incredible plants defy the odds by outsmarting insects and other prey.
Museum will provide clay pot, required soil, and an assortment of carnivorous plants. $15 per person
