Discussing Reptiles and Amphibians in South Carolina
The Coastal Discovery Museum will host Jake Zadik on January 5 at 2 pm for this program in
our Discovery lecture series. Learn about the status of our local herps and the conservation
challenges they face for the future. From 3-foot-long salamanders to rattle snakes the
Lowcountry has a great abundance and variety of reptiles and amphibians. Come and join us to
learn about these valuable creatures.
Zadik has worked as a professional naturalist and environmental educator in the Lowcountry for
the last 10 years. In 2018, Jake and a few other naturalists and herpetologists founded the
South Carolina Herpetological Society to promote research and conservation efforts around the
state.
The cost of the program is $7, and reservations are required by calling 843-689-6767 ext. 223.
The museum is located at 70 Honey Horn Drive on Hilton Head Island.
