The Coastal Discovery Museum will host “Return to Nature Juneteenth Celebration on June 19th from 3-7 pm. Victoria Smalls will present at 5:30 pm on collecting artwork and becoming an art patron. A quilting workshop by Hank D. Herring is free and will be an ongoing demonstration taking place outside. Amiri Farris, one of the featured artists in the exhibit in our gallery right now, will be doing live action painting during the afternoon as well. Authentic West African and Gullah food will be available for purchase. The gallery will be open to visit our latest exhibit “Gullah Geechee Story and History” exploring the story of the Gullah people – through the eyes of several featured artists.
