Marsh Tacky Horse Tour to begin at Coastal Discovery Museum
The Coastal Discovery Museum will begin a weekly program on March 4 at 2:30 pm.
through the end of April, to introduce visitors to our resident horses Comet and
Hawk. Descended from horses brought to the Lowcountry in the 1500s, there are
now around 300 Marsh Tackies left in existence. Learn about the history of these
adaptable horses and take a trip to our historic barn. There you will meet the
museum’s two resident horses Comet and Hawk and learn about their care and
conservation.
Cost is $12 adult, $7 child (ages 4-12) per person and reservations are required by
calling 843-689-6767 ext. 223.
The Museum is located at 70 Honey Horn Drive on Hilton Head Island.
