Hilton Head Choral Society Pops Concert – September Song: “Music for Family and Friends”
Now that the summer is coming to an end – are you looking for something fun to do on a Friday evening? Why not join the Hilton Head Choral Society to kick-off it’s 2019-2020 concert season with a pops concert, SEPTEMBER SONG, “Music for Family and Friends”? The concert features the 75 voice chorus with orchestra AND some special guests.
The diverse repertoire of family-friendly songs that Tim Reynolds, Artistic Director for HHCS, has chosen for this concert will soothe your soul and lift your spirit. There is something for everyone from pop radio tunes to inspirational favorites, Broadway shows and everything in between.
The whole audience will find something to sing along to with classics like “Climb Every Mountain,” “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and “O What a Beautiful Morning.” It might be hard not to choke up or get nostalgic when you hear the chorus sing “What a Wonderful World.” And for the younger concertgoers (or just the young at heart), there’s a Mary Poppins Medley that includes music from both the old and new version of the movie!
Local favorite, Lori Maurer, will be performing with the chorus. She’s always a crowd favorite with her incredibly gifted voice enriching the melodic sound of the HHCS singers.
In addition, the fifty voice 7th and 8th grade Garrison Voices Chorus from the Esther F. Garrison School for the Arts in Savannah, directed by John Tisbert will be performing with the Choral Society and singing selections of their own.
