Volumes of Light: The Amazing Lanterns of Chantelle Rytter
The Coastal Discovery Museum will host this exhibit from October 22, 2021, through January 9, 2022.  The artist behind the successful Atlanta Beltline Lantern Parade, as well as Hilton Head’s own lantern parade, Rytter has been creating joy through her art in communities for 20 years.  The museum is pleased to show the full spectrum of her work, including one-of-a-kind lanterns, puppets, drawings, sketchbooks, photographs, and other ephemera.  Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 – 4:30 and Sunday from 11-3.
An opening reception will be held on Thursday, October 21 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at the museum.
Rytter will also present an informative talk on November 9 at 5 pm.  She will take us behind the scenes of her amazing parade productions.  Cost is $7 per person and there is limited seating.
Lantern Making Workshops will be held with kits created by Rytter on November 10 (Sea Turtles) and November 11 (Butterflies) at 5 pm. Cost is $40 per lantern kit.
Reservations for the talk and the lantern making workshops are required and may be made by calling 843-689-6767 ext. 223.
