Dr. Brent Morris breaks down the impact of this time in the Palmetto State’s history. Morris is an assistant professor of history at the University of South Carolina Beaufort and director of the National Endowment for the Humanities summer institute “America’s Reconstruction: The Untold Story.” He was the recipient of the 2010 Malcolm C. Clark Award of the South Carolina Historical Society and was named a 2016 University of South Carolina Breakthrough Star in Research and Scholarship. The lecture will take place at the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage.
