Join us at the Morris Center for a glimpse into the wardrobe of a Victorian lady. Kim Poovey is a Victorian expert and performance artist who demonstrates the daily dressing rituals required of women during the 19th century. Learn proper etiquette and fashion styles from this fascinating era. The language of the fan and a humorous look at Victorian communications between ladies and gentlemen are also presented. Kim creates all her gowns using period correct patterns as well as finishing details such as tatted trim, rouching and silk rosettes. No detail is overlooked including jewelry, headdress, and undergarments, all of which are historically accurate.
