In honor of the Living By The Rails exhibit, learn how Hardeeville local Vickie Edenfield and a group of community members saved the historic Argent Lumber No. 7 locomotive from demolition. The Argent Lumber Company was a well-known logging operation located in Hardeeville, S.C. The three-foot gauge steam engines were wood burning and operated a twelve-mile main line from Hardeeville to the Savannah River. Vickie will talk about her love for this train and how they were able to preserve its history for future generations.
