Serving in Vietnam: 1965 – 1973, South Carolinians who served the Nation in an Unpopular War
The program will examine plans for a major exhibition on the Vietnam War. Topics included will be: the role of the armed services, examination of some of the major conflicts including the three-week battle of Hue, January- February 1968, the fight to keep the rivers and coast free of enemy activity, and the air war against enemy infiltration along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. The program will conclude by looking at the war’s deadly cost and how the perspective of the Vietnam War has evolved and changed since the last American troops left Indochina.
Admission to the event is free, however advanced registration is requested due to limited space. To register call the center at 843-284-9227.
