The Ring People – Movie Screening
Join us for a screening of The Ring People Documentary, followed by a Q&A with the Producer, Jamie Koelker! Santa Elena History Center will provide the popcorn!!
The Ring People – Forty centuries ago, ancient natives left their mark on the landscape of coastal South Carolina. Today, archaeologists from SC DNR, a dozen universities and the National Park Service search for clues to our earliest-known coastal dwellers. The story takes viewers to remote sites as scientists discover the ancient South Carolinians who built monumental rings of shell.
Jamie Koelker is a career director, shooter and editor of documentary projects in history, anthropology, conservation and education. The bulk of his time has been in public television and producing for the Big Five educational publishers – McGraw-Hill, Holt, Harcourt, Houghton-Mifflin and Pearson. Accustomed to directing larger crews, he often shoots and edits his own material and has an FAA Part 107 rating for aerials.
Programs at the Santa Elena History Center are offered at no cost to Annual Passholders. Others in attendance are asked to make a donation of their choice.
