In his book A Bridge to Justice: The Life of Franklin H. Williams, John Caher explores the impact of a “hidden figure” civil rights attorney inappropriately relegated to the footnotes of history. The presentation will include a discussion of Williams’ life and legacy and a viewing of the Emmy-nominated 30-minute PBS documentary of the same title. Caher co-authored the book (with Enid Gort), and was the primary writer of the documentary. Caher, a former newspaper reporter and editor, is the author or co-author of eight books. He currently works for the New York State Unified Court System as Senior Advisor for Strategic and Technical Communications.
