Queen Quet will offer a presentation based on her newest books, Gwine Home & We Journey. “Both novels have Gullah/Geechee youths engaging with their elders to learn their family histories on the Sea Islands while also encountering environmental dangers and land issues. Dem chillun use muddawit fa git tru disya fa tru. These two sagas bring to life the lifestyles of traditional Gullah/Geechee families and show how the youth that engage in knowing who they are will be champions in holding onto this cultural legacy.” Books will be available for purchase with a signing at the close of the program.
