Charlotte Forten Day at the Penn Center
Join Penn Center on October 31st, 2019 as they celebrate Charlotte Forten Day.
Charlotte Forten is Penn School’s first African American Teacher. She began teaching during the Civil War in 1862. Come have fun and interact with important figures in Penn Center’s history such as Charlotte Forten, Laura Towne, Ellen Murray, Harriet Tubman, Susie King Taylor and more! Games, prizes, music….and candy! Children, families and all community members are invited to this event. Hosted by the Friends of Charlotte Forten Book Club – there is no cost to attend, but please register to help us plan for supplies.
