Biology and Conservation of Diamondback Terrapins

The Coastal Discovery Museum will host Erin Levesque on March 15 at 2 pm for the
virtual program “Biology and Conservation of Diamondback Terrapins”. Levesque is
the new manager of the Waddell Mariculture Center and a Biologist with the
Estuarine Finfish Section, SC Department of Natural Resources. This presentation
will focus on the biology of these unique turtles as well as past and present
challenges facing diamondback terrapin populations. A description of terrapin
culture will illustrate our efforts to responsibly utilize lab-raised animals to
supplement depleted populations while learning more about the biology of wild
terrapins.
Cost is $5 for virtual viewing and reservations are required by calling 843-689-6767

at 70 Honey Horn Drive on Hilton Head Island.
