1. Ferry Boat Ride to Island

Enjoy a 45 minute ferry ride to Daufuskie.

Since Daufuskie is an island without a bridge, you can only get here by passenger ferry or boat (no cars on the ferries).   Visit  the Daufuskie Island Ferry  website.   It runs 8 times a day on the same schedule every day, rain or shine. Limited ferry crossings are also available on holidays.

Whether you are just spending the day or staying a week, you will need land transportation to get around Daufuskie.  Renting a golf cart is the preferred method on the island.

The Robert Kennedy Historic Trail winds its way around the island highlighting historically significant sites. Along the trail visitors will find the Billie Burn Museum, the Gullah Learning Center, tabby ruins, historic cemeteries & homes, and old logging railroad line. Read more here.

Bloody Point Lighthouse Museum

Constructed in 1882 and in service for half a century, the Bloody Point Lighthouse marked the coastline to guide boaters into the channel, and aid in safe passage into and out of the Savannah River. Today it is a well preserved historic structure which houses a collection of artifacts and documents telling the story of Daufuskie of the last century. An interpretive garden featuring heritage crops of the Low Country, such as cotton, rice and indigo is located on the grounds of the museum.

The Angel Oak Tree is a Southern live oak (Quercus virginiana) located in Angel Oak Park on Johns Island near Charleston, South Carolina. The Angel Oak Tree is estimated to be at least 400 and possibly up to 1400 years old It stands 66.5 ft (20 m) tall, measures 28 ft (8.5 m) in circumference, and produces shade that covers 17,200 square feet (1,600 m2). Its longest branch distance is 187 ft. in length. ⠀
